Dash lights

So....the far left gauge light wasn't working in the car...the one that lights the left side of the speedometer and the needle for it. So, I swap the bulb and put everything back together....

Now, that light still does not work, and....the light for the far right of the tach/tach needle doesn't work....arrghhh!

Did you just replace the bulb or the entire bulb assembly? If you used the old assembly you need to make sure the bulb leads are secured. I just did this today on mine and I had to solder the leads to the assembly connectors.

Re: Dash lights

So, I figured out why the bulbs weren't workin....they work now. New problem though...

Now, all the gauges on the left work...speedo, amp. and oil pressure work as advertised.

The problem now is on dim, the right side doesn't come on....that being the tach, temp, and fuel. When I turn the brights on, they come on VERY dim. Also, my green blinker lights stay on, and when I put on the left blinker, the right blinker light flashes (left blinker is the actual one flashing), and vice versa. WTF, all I did was take this thing out and put a couple of bulbs in it.

Re: Dash lights

did the circuit plastic/paper get pinched or damaged? pulling the gauge cluster out can rip or damage the circuitry on the back side... id check that out first

Yup...that's what happened....dang it! Any tips on repairing it? That thin plastic seems that it would not be that tolerant to sodering guns and such.

Re: Dash lights

I've actually never had to repair it, I've always been able to unfold it where it got pinched. It has a protective plastic over the metal until it gets to where it makes contact to the bulbs so solder might not work, depending on where your problem is.
