Wipers out of control

Engine: 305 TPI
Transmission: Stock
Wipers out of control
Hello all,
I ran into a hell of a problem. I just replaced the wiper switch (the one your turn/wiper/cruise lever goes into) and now the wipers will not shut off no matter what position the lever is set at. When the ignition is set to AUX the wipers run at low speed but when I start the car they run at high speed. I can’t say the problem was there before because the previous switch was broke in several pieces. I’ve read it could be the motor or the wiper relay but can’t find my exact problem.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
