need help with a DINGY problem

ok, so heres the deal. i have a short in my vehicle and i've come to the conclusion that its the "dingie" thing that goes off when your headlights are on and your car is off. the problem is, i have no clue where its coming from and cant tell where it is located in my 87 trans am. i wanted to get some advice and maybe figure out where it is before i tore the dash apart. (btw, its not in the fuse box panel, the dingie sounds coming from somewheres in the dash im pretty sure
PLEASE HELP!
