Ignition buzzer/sound

I'm not sure what to call the sound.. Its the warning sound the car makes when you turn the ignition to "on" before you start it. I'm assuming this is supposed to be a steady, solid sound. On my car the sound is a little broken up, not steady or smooth sounding. I'm guessing there's a worn electrical contact or switch somewhere, but I'm not sure where to start. I found a key buzzer switch on eckler's camaro, but it was for non-tilt steering up to '89. Mine is a '90 with tilt. Anyone know how to fix this?

Re: Ignition buzzer/sound

The buzzer itself is located up under the dash on the driver's side. Its plugged into a small fusebox type thing on the side of the center console. The hazard and turn flashers are there too. Its a black box about 2"x3"x1" thick. Try pulling it out and plugging it back in. I tore mine out a while ago cause I was working under the dash with the door open and it was annoying me and I never put it back in.

Re: Ignition buzzer/sound

I did the same

Its a separate fuseblock thingy. Firebirds locate the headlight door fuses there as well
