Good fuseblock picture and accurate info
Hi!
I need to get a good schematic of the fuseblock.
Im going to install an caralarm and I need to read up on all the wires.
The Manual says:
1 cable to 12+ during crank and ignition on (That is the yellow wire (10A) used on stereo should be fine to use to the alarm to, cause there isnt any other free ignition ON/crank 12+v free fuse in the block right? The alarm dosent need/requiare a fuse for this cable that only have 12v on ignition on and while cranking according to the install manual..
and the other wire is a 15A (12+V) cable constant to the unit.
Is there any free fuses in the stock 1989 Fuse block ?
Is this diagram valid and fulle accurate for a camaro 89:

The 2 small connectors named BAT are they 12V continuous or?
The LID 15A fuse is that constant 12volt or just when igniton on and while cranking ?
Please help

Did you know you could answer these or most of your questions with a test light?...

Fuse Use
The LID fuse is always hot.
There are no free fuses in the sense that there are fuses in the block that are not being used.

Re: Fuse Use
Anyone know if I can fuse the IGN and BAT with a 15A fuse ?
Or is that to uch Amp for those 2 connections ?
Im guessing the IGN means ignition and only applies 12V with Ignition ON and while cranking
and the BAT means 12v Battery connecton..
I will measure those when I get to the car, but would it be to high to fuse it with a 15A cant find any info how much those 2 terminals can handle..
EDIT: NINÅ you know if its fine to hook it up to LID (the constant 12v source)
Or shall I use the 2 terminals I mentioned above (in this post)

Re: Fuse Use
So Im back from my garage and did some measurements.
Found what I was looking for and here's the result:
BLUE:
GREEN:

So I will hook the main power (constant) up to the BAT terminal and use a 15A fuse to the unit. and then hook the IGN up to the unit using a 15A fuse there also.. (this terminal can handle that right ? there isnt any visible fuse or info but im guessing 15A fuse would be fine (whats the install manual want you to install)
Found what I was looking for and here's the result:
BLUE:
- Ignition OFF: 0V
- Ignition ON: 12.85V
- Cranking: 10.5 - 12.85V (jumping up and down during crank)
- Engine Running: 14.50V (On idle with no load on engine, with lights on almost the same)
