ecm fuse blowing

hey guys sorry im bad with wiring problems so maybe you can help me out. My ecm fuse keeps on blowing. i pulled the fuse panel down some and saw it was a pink and black wire. But it heads up towards the guages. does anyone have a ecm wireing diagram or what it does. It is a 1985 carberated 305 motor. i just installed a electronic tac and t56 transmission but i dont see why that would do anything. the car lost alot of power and has rough takeoffs now. please any help would be great.

Fuse Abuse

Disconnect the ECM.

Install new fuse.

Does the ECM fuse still blow?

Re: ecm fuse blowing

well i disconnected the ecm replaced the fuse and then reconected the ecu and started it up and the fuse was good after i shut it down and looked at it. Then i took it for a ten minute drive and shut it down and checked it and it was blown again. any ideas? Is there an electronic spark control module on the 1985 carburated model? I know theres one for tpi but i cant find a diagram for my car.
thnk you and any ideas whatsoever will help

Fuse Abuse

You want to find out what part of the circuit is blowing the fuse.

Put 5 amp fuses in line with the ECM, ESC, and the key decoder.

Leave the 10 amp fuse in it’s place.

Now when a fuse blows, you have reduced the area you need to troubleshoot to a fraction.
