1. im eliminating the computer controlled q-jet and distrib in my 1987 z28. there are a lot of electrical relays. i know one of them is for the electric fan but what are some of the other ones for? can i remove them or would that mess up things like the headlights and gauge cluster?

2. im switching from computer controlled HEI to a coil-in-cap HEI with a vacuum advance. i havent gotten it yet so i havent read any directions but are there any wires i should save from the old HEI for the new one?

 

Non computer controlled dist only needs the hot ( pink ) wire to HEI cap and white for tacho signal

 

thanks thats what i was thinking. as far as the relays, i removed six of the seven i found and all the wires. i tested my fan, lights, turn signals, gauges and deck. they all seem to work fine.
