re-wiring engine systems

i have some wiring issues. I think its with vats but the guy who owned the car before me must have thought he was a wiring genius because there are all kinds of cut, spliced, and random wires in the car. The guages dont work so i know he failed at whatever he was doing. but long story short i was frustrated and throwing around the idea of removing all the problematic wiring and re-wiring everything into one of those painless fuesed switch boards. I was thinking about re-doing the fuel pump to a switch, the ignition, the cooling fan ( which i might do anyways) and starter with a push button. I was wondering if anyone has done this which im sure there has been some drag guys who have. but how much of a pain would this be to do? I know it would make things alot easier on me as far as electronics go. Oh and i almost forgot im going from tbi to carb'd so i want the computer out!

all information and pictures welcome. thanks!

Re: re-wiring engine systems

Pick up an intact third gen harness then check the stickies in the LSx/LTx swap forum. Theres one called "how to prep a third gen harness." It will give you all the info you need to customize that harness to work with a carbed setup. Ive done it and it was pretty easy. Although I had my stock, non-molested harness to begin with.
