1983 Trans am need help , need ECM
My 83 trans am is bogging down when the gas pedal is pressed, its running very very lean, not getting enough fuel. Took it to a shop, they advised me it was the ECM that was malfunctioning .
I am wondering if anyone knows where or how I can get a used one , as my budget is very limited and I wanna stay on my wives good side !!! LOL
Please message me asap
or call 530-514-2075 if you have one

LOL...bad ECM is possible but there are other much more
likely causes-was the fuel pressure checked?,CEL lit?
first step is to check fuel pressure-there is no schrader
valve fitting to test pressure on the C/F,special fittings
need to be made.Inside the fuel tank is a foam-rubber
coupler hose between the pump and the steel line-
over time these can get soft and blow out, bleeding off
pressure. If the ECM is actually bad,the '84 corvette
uses the same ECM with a different chip(just use your
original chip)'82 f-bod and vette ECMs are larger but
plug in and work the same though you must use '82
chips in those.

OK well the shop has had it for a week now and has checked everything. Just about LOL. The fuel filter hasn't been changed in a while. It throws a check engine light periodically. It comes on then goes off. Very weird.
