My '89 GTA has an issue with the brake lights. the 3rd light on the hatch works but the brake lights in the tail lights don't. I replaced all the bulbs and still nothing. I know the 3rd light is on a different circuit and with that working, I'm not inclined to think the brake swtich is bad.
Does anyone have any idea what the problem might be besides a broken wire somewhere?

The parking lights, turn signals, headlights and side marker lights work. I wasn't thinking the brake switch due to the 3rd brake light in the hatch working. Am I missing the way that switch is wired?

 

I believe there are 2 switches in that one brake switch.

 

Hmmmmmmmm..that's interesting. I am going to swing by tonight and pick up a switch and see what that does for it. Hopefully that will take care of the issues.
