starter wire?

starter wire?

okay so i noticed a wire hanging by my starter and my windows wont function or blower motor. any idea if its the wire for it and if it goes up with the rest of the wires on the starter? thanks.

seems to have power to it. if i hook it up to a ground my volts drop abit.

It sounds like the wire has disconnected from the fusible link for the power distribution.

Temporarily connect it
(thru a 30 amp fuse) and see if those items now function.

If they do, good, however you want to make sure there isn’t a problem of draining the battery with the car off.

You can determine if there’s a drain by connecting an ammeter in series with the battery.

(You can use a small bulb such as a side marker bulb if you don‘t have an ammeter.)

If there is more than 50 milliamps there is excessive draw.

With everything turned off and doors closed observe the current flow.

Pull the fuses one at a time till you see the current drop.

That’s the circuit with the problem.

The links are located near the starter.

They usually look like a rectangle about an 1½ inches long.

okay. i hooked that wire up and it trys and starts when battery cable touches.
