The previous owner of my '89 GTA attempted to disable the security feature on the car. Apparently some wires were cut in the hopes that the system would be disabled.

Unfortunately, now the car is dead in the water. The brake lights stayed on this past weekend when I shut the car off and when I went to start it, the "Security" light flashed in the dash and the car did absolutely nothing when I tried starting it. The car wouldn't even crank. My question is, what can I do when this happens to once again restore power to the car so I can drive it? The battery is good as the interior lights come on and the gauges register when I turn the key into the "on" position. As it is now, the car is undriveable. The car started fine and ran fine before this weekend so I'm not sure what happened. The one ignition key I have is coded for the car and I have been able to start and drive the car. Any help would be appreciated.
