If you got fuel and spark I would say check your timing if its off enough it wont start at all.

Ok well I would see if your getting power to your coil if you are check to see if you can jump a spark from it. If you can jump a spark from it just run down to the plug and see if you can get jump from any of them and do you have a coil on the distributor like the older ones or is it off of it like on the firewall.

Re: firing problem on 1985 camaro

You could have a bad ground to the coil or just no power to it at all. It could be a simple and stupid as just one wire is screwed up or something may be hooked up wrong.

Re: firing problem on 1985 camaro

Check your grounds on every part of the system to the coil and to the distributor. And is your distributor working right. When I first got my Camaro my distributor was bad and made it where I got no fire but every thing else was good try that if your grounds are all good. Because if I remember right it would spin right every now and then and work and I would get spark then I would try it again and nothing. So check your grounds make sure theres no broken ground or a bad connection.

Re: firing problem on 1985 camaro

I dont know how to tell if it bad but there should be a little module on the distributor that could of gone bad. Or other things could of gone bad have you had it started recently.

I would say look at all the wiring and make sure everything is connected right. If everything is good check for broken wires or so what.
