700r4 speedo wiring
hey everybody
having a problem with my speedometer. Ill start of with a little background on the car its an 87 gta that was a 5 speed and the p/o blew it out and put in a 700r4 and im trying to button up the install and run on the tranny for a while before i change it back problem is i cant get the speedometer to work at first i thought it was the speedo so i got a programmable vdo and im wondering how to hook it up correctly should it go to the vss or somewhere else any info would be greatly appreciated

read the instructions that come with the speedo? thats a good start.
the gauge should need a switched 12v source, a switched light source, a ground, and a speedo signal. Its most likely going to have to be a buffered signal, not a raw signal straight form the sender, but all of this is should be covered in the instructions with the speedo.
under the passenderside dash, next to the computer, is a yellow box, thats the vss buffer box. There is a purple and a yellow wire, those are the 2 wires from the trans sender. there is also a green wire, thats the buffered signal to the speedo in the car now. Thats how my 86 TA is wired.
