hello guys,
today i was installing new iroc taillights that i just got....so i was checking my lights. i have all lights except for headlights and high beams... i converted to a h4 headlight conversion...and always had this issue with headlights...and high beam indicator staying on due to this conversion...got them off ebay...and later found that there is a harness that i never got that corrects the polarity.....anyhow
1. does anyone know how to correct the polarity....wire diagram....etc
2. why do i not have any headlights or high beam now....no idicator light on dash even.
...i just noticed that my multifunction switch does no click anymore for high to low...still wipers work and still turn signals work....my 2year old could have broke it for all i know...one day...while i was working on something else....
*so obiously i need to get a new switch....anyone ever change one? mine is original, but would this affect the headlights no working at all? there is a fuse...but for taillights..and they work.
*any help would be appriciated...... i am going to check bulbs and power in front for now....will let you know...but it would be wierd for both to blow....

Re: no headlights at all? help!!!
ok...i checked all fuses under dash...all good
theres 1 circuit breaker
the multifunction switch/ turn signal switch is wiper delay,cruise,etc....i took out the cruise and have just a normal..wiper switch on off ...thought of installing this one but not to sure how to get it out of the steering column....so i can see if it will switch from high to low again...
*changed bulb...headlights still not working
**checked for power...no power at all going to headlight connector
i;m out of ideas.....

no one has any ideas.....been looking at schmatics
if fuseible link...wouldn't it be more than just headlights.....where they all at...(starter?)
*poss bad headlight switch...but...eerything else is working...even dash lights
*i need to replace wiper switch arm (high to low headlight)
*dimmer switch is no clicking anymore...so it must be internal in steering column....thats were i am thinking....anyone ever do one?

Re: no headlights at all? help!!!
If your dimmer switch no longer clicks and switches between high and low beams when pushed by hand it needs replacing. On your headlight upgrade did you put in a new lighting harness with relays to handle the increase in power that I've read can overload your headlight switch and cause it to fail? Changing wiper switch arm not going to help, it's probably OK as is. Happy hunting

Re: no headlights at all? help!!!
The bad hi/lo switch could cause the headlights to not function - replace it.

As mentioned, the increased amperage of the new headlights can easily fry the stock wiring - relays to run the lights off battery power instead of having that high amperage running throughout the switches and such is highly recommended. You need to have the power from the switch 'energizing' the relay, then it gets wired so that the relay directs battery voltage to the headlights on new uograded wires.

Yellow is power in. Tan is lo beam out, green is hi beam out. Since one of these must be powered depending on the dimmer switch position, the switch is broken.

replace your dimmer switch first.
