Re: ECM help

ok sorry. it is a 86 firebird that had a 2.3l v6. i swapped a 92 5.0 TBI in to it. and i cant get the injectors to fire. i have the vats box from the 92 and have wired it in i also made a vats bypass module just in case mine was bad neither make the injectors fire. i manually tested the injectors and they work. i was checking the code to see if it has a vats code. oh and yes i do have the ecm from the 92

Re: ECM help

Check connector C207.

You will need to know where the "check engine" Lamp wire/pin is located @ C207 for both the 1986 and the 1992. There's a good chance that this wire is in different locations on either side of that plug.

Re: ECM help

P.S. C207 is the ECM harness connector that plugs into the Dash Wiring harness. It's located on the passenger side, under the dash, near the heater core box.

Re: ECM help

I have an 87 2.8 v6, wich when i try to flash, I hear systems in my engine turn on, the check engine light only flashes once real quick and then nothing. Problem I am having is, Car starts like ****, It will turn over bogging like crazy (rpm,s up and down bounciung back and forth, if I dont give it some gas till this settles it will die on it may die on its own. I did notice the lights will dim along with the enginge light flashing on and off. Randomly while driving the car will shut off.

Re: ECM help

I never figured out why my check engine light wont show codes. i tried replacing it but it didn't help. I ordered a eprom programer to reprogram the eprom, and discovered someone had put a hypertech eprom in it. So i'm going to try reprograming it
