Missing a few fuses??

Ok my car has recently started to show about 9 volts on my battery gage while I'm driving in the morning. Sometimes it jumps back up to about 13 volts but then it goes back down. Well this morning I went to plug in my phone charger and it zapped my accessory fuse, so my ciggartette lighter and radio quit working. I looked at my fuse panel and noticed my accessory fuse was blown. I also noticed there is no fuse in the spots for my radio, inst. cluster lights, and battery. This leads me to believe my wiring may be jacked up. Any suggestions? Is this normal? I tend to think not.

Re: Missing a few fuses??

You are NOT missing fuses.

These are extra places to plug in accessories that the General graciously provided for us. If you look closely, there wil be little arrows to each one - the fuse (like for the radio) is there, but there's also a little arrow pointing to the other slot. If you look closely, you also notice that - where a fuse has 2 prongs and thus needs 2 slots to plug into to, these places that the arrows point only have one slot.

They are there so that you can crimp a standard 1/4in male spade connector on a wire and get positive juice from those places for added accessories.

The BAT slot has constant power, regardless of the key.

The INST CLUSTER one only gets power when the lights are on (like for an extra guage pod or interior lighting).

The RADIO one gets power when the key is ON, or when the key is at the ACC position - just like the radio (use for a CD changer or equalizer, etc.).

Now, use your imagination and think of all the cool things you can wire in without having to jury rig a junky wire tap in somewhere!

I have my 4th gen power seat wired into the BAT - that way I can adjust the seat back after the wife drives BEFORE I try to get my fat @ss in there and turn the key on!

I have under dash lighting that is connected to the INST CLUSTER one, so that when the lights are on, my interior floorboards (and a light in my center console) are lit. I also have a backlit LED cluster overlay that uses it's own lighting in that one.

I have an accessory-only outlet (like a cig lighter, but not) connected to the BAT one so that I can charge the cell phone in the car even if I don't have the key on.

Make sense?
