vats 91 305 TBI 5 speed
i want to bypass vats module and i saw the write up on how to do it with the gear selector and another wire. but i dont have an auto i have a 5 speed manual i dont want to put in the resistors i want to completely bypass system so can someone please show me a clear diagram or picture of what i need to do. or explain in detail so i can get this done quickly

The ONLY way is to do the resistors. You can get a box that provides all the resistor values, but for the $50+ it's just as easy to get a $1 resistor from Radio Shack.
The VATS affects 2 operations, starting and fuel injection. 1) it provides the ground for the starter enable relay, and 2) it generates a pulse wave to the ECM and without that the ECM will not fire the injectors.
#1 is easy to override - just run the black wire off the starter enable relay to a ground.
But #2 cannot be 'wired' out - the ECM has to get this pulse wave from the VATS module.
So, the ONLY way is to provide the VATS the resistor value it needs, whether through a $1 resistor from Radio Shack or through a $50+ box.
If it's working, why do you want to disable it?

Do you mean you were able to get past the fuel injection issue and take the VATS module out of the picture?
If so, I'm curious as to how. I've always been told and always read that you couldn't 'wire out' the injection side of the VATS.
I did have another idea last night - change proms or ECM's to same induction type but non-VATS - then the ECM wouldn't be looking for VATS input.
Anyway, would like to know how you got around it.
