DIm Dash
Hello all, i have been reading lots trying to find an answer to my dash lights being dim
sometimes my dash lights are normal, while other times it is very hard to read as it is dim
question, would a bad dimmer switch cause this? (the transistor perhaps is failing?) i have read many postings on here were the bad dimmer caused the dash to not light up at all, can it also cause it to display good, then dull at other times?
car is a 88 trans am GTA, 5 speed, 305 TPI
many thanks in advance to all

Eating A Slim Jim While I Ponder The Dim
Using a test light (the type for testing for voltage, not a continuity tester) probe the rheostat wiper(the dimmer control) while turning the rheostat back and forth.
Now, what does the test light do?
