Help with a hacked harness .

The previous owner did a real number on the wiring harness. I am in the process of restoring my car, and want to fix the harness the right way. Pictures are from 84 bird. 5.0L 5 speed car.

Okay first off these photos are from the harness that come from the firewall below the booster. These are all of the starter/power/alt. wires.

These wires were butt crimped together. The two are coming out of the harness. Is this correct? I would think that they would each go somewhere and not be spliced together.

This connector was wrapped in tape and not being used.

Farther down these wires were soldered together wrapped in a latex glove then in tape. WTF?

Any idea what these 2 wires are. I do not think they should be twisted together. They come out of the harness with the temp sensor wire that plugs to the bung on the cylinder head.

This wire?

Do all of the wires i need for the HVAC system come out if here. I can not seem to locate the AC compressor hookup. I think it was cut.

Does anything come from the passenger side fender well that I will need for a a non ECM controlled setup? Maybe the compressor hookup comes from here?

I have an 84 t/a too. I also have a complete harness from another car and, I have a Chilton's professional wiring diagram manual for 82-84 cars. I could take some pictures of the harness or email you a picture of the diagram. If that would help.

the passenger side harness can come out, since its only stuff related to the computer controls. you will most likely need to get a new C207 connector (psgr side, hooked up right next to the ecm) and splice into it for some other parts of the vehicle, but I can't seem to find a pinout for 84, so I'm not 100% sure

fb355. That would be great. I can't seem to find a diagram for the 84 cars.
