is this whats causing it?

trying to figure out why it won't spark and found out that i don't have this piece when i removed the coil? would not having this make it not spark? Name:  gfdsgfdsg.jpg

Disturbing Distributor

That looks like a ground connection for the unit.

Make sure your coil is getting 12 volts, ground, and pulse input.

Hopefully someone that recently did a coil job on that configuration of distributor will chime in and identify that part.

Yes, you need that part, NINA is right, it is the ground connector!!

No ground, no spark!!
