which headlight switch?
I may need to replace my headlight switch. The tail lights and dash lights went out and I don't see a fuse that's blown. I know the dash lights would flicker in the past when I played with the switch so I'm thinking it finally just isn't working right anymore. Maybe it will fix my stuck up headlights too!
I could get a used one but would hate to get another 28 year old switch out of an 83 firebird someone else pulled out and don't want to end up buying the switch twice.
I noticed a few on ebay that are new. An AC Delco caught my eye but with shipping it's almost double the price of another aftermarket "new" switch that is supposed to be a direct replacement.
Would you spend the extra on the AD Delco or should I go to the dealership? Or will the aftermarket one probably be fine?
What are your thoughts/experiences with this kind of stuff?
Thanks

Re: which headlight switch?
update:
I got the dash apart and was able to remove the switch. Even before removal I was able to get the dash and tail lights to turn on with wiggling the switch and now they seem ok...BUT when I removed the switch the top left connection (when looking at the dash) has been charred and the copper piece that plugs into it pulled out of the back of the switch upon removal. I was able to clean the copper piece (as well as the others) and get it all back together for the time being. My original question of "which switch is the best value?" still stands but I also wonder about the connector the switch plugs into. Is this one section possibly what keeps my headlights from going down?
