Cluster Swap

I have a 92 RS TBI and my speedo went out about a week ago. I pulled it out and the circuit board was fried. My question is can I swap a cluster from a Z-28 in or do I have to find a cluster from a 91-92 305 RS?

Re: Cluster Swap

A cluster from any 90-92 V8 will work. Only difference is the red line on the tach will be higher if from a TPI car

Re: Cluster Swap

That's what I thought, but I heard that the TBI 305s had a buffer box and I didn't know if you could interchange between the RS and Z-28s

Re: Cluster Swap

Would I need to change the VSS or recalibrate the computer if I went witha 140 IROC cluster?

Re: Cluster Swap

Not sure, but I suspect it would be really difficult to come across. IROCs were only made up to the end of 89 for part of the 90 model year run.

Re: Cluster Swap

I found one. What will I need to do to get it to work?

Re: Cluster Swap

Wow, congrats. Pretty sure you just have to remove old one, install new one. 15-20 minute job. Anyone feel free to correct me if I'm wrong. Won't hurt to try
