Non AC heater box prolems

Ever since I switched to the non-ac heater box, my blower motor will not work properly. If I change blower speeds it will pop a fuse, but if it just leave it, the fan will blow. The only thing I can think of is this:

I switched from AC to non ac and the resistors were different styles, I swapped in the resistor from my ac car so I could still use my connector. I will go check, but I think I may have had the 3 pin connector, and this motor had the 4 pin.

Anybody know much about the wiring for this system? I should be getting a non-ac heater control for my interior soon.

You’re shorting one of the lines to ground due to a mismatch with the 3 verses 4 pin connector.

A heater only car has 2 resistors while an HVAC car has 3.

Using a spare headlight as a short finder, put it in series with the fuse.

Then slowly rotate the speed selector.

When the offending path is actuated the lamp will glow bright.
