lots of questions sorry for the length
Ok well first off thank you for looking at my question. I have a 91 camaro with an 350 that the po put in it. The engine runs but im not sure how good of a job they did on the wirering on it. They took out the computer because its sitting in the trunk right now. As for the other wiring on it im not quite sure what they have done. The gauges half way work the spedometer is the only one that is accurate all the others ones display but are just off except for the temp gauge it doesn't work at all. The vats is what confuses me the most though. I have read a lot of posts on here and most of them talk about it not working at all and what to do. But my problem is that it doesn't work sometimes. Like for example ill hop in the car and run to the store for something, and it will start right up witht the key. Then once im done at the store and go to leave the car won't start with the key and the security light just stayes on. I guess the po had this problem with it as well because he has a push button start installed so when the key acts up i just push that to start it and it works fine just the security light stayes on. Again im sorry for the length and sorry if these are common problems that you guys hear a lot.

If you have injection and it starts with the push button then there is nothing wrong with the VATS system because VATS stops fuel to the engine as well a starter

The old engine was tbi but now it's carbed. Even though it's carbed now some of the computer is still there. I'm new to the mechanic scene and kinda got in over my head here it seems lol.
