Ok bare with me as I try to explain this. I have two diff. problems that i think are related. I just bought 89 iroc auto and noticed that to turn the wippers on you have filp a switch under the dash and then turn the switch on the column. They turn on but only at one speed. I found a simaler issue while trying to install my cd player. Ill explain more about each below.

Wippers: Starting at the switch, coming out of the one side there is a wire with a spade connector going into one side of were the wiper fuse should be in the fuse box. Off the other side of the switch is a wire that goes out under the hood and is spliced into the yellow wire of the wiper motor.

Radio: To start with the factory conectors were all cut off so i found a wiring diagram on here for the radio and used the diagram that came with cd player to straight wire the cd player to the car, yes i triple check to make sure the wires were right. Well no go the cd player wasn't getting any power. I checked the fuse box and the radio fuse was missing so i put one in it and still no go. Behind the radio i found a wire that went out under the hood and was spliced into wireing for what looked like the under hood light(best i could tell from tracing the wire back). I took this to be the wire the kid used as a power for the radio but i used a test light and it never go power. After hours of messing with it i go fed up and used a piece of wire i had with an inline fuse and stuck it into were the radio fuse should be and wired it to the battery wire on the radio. The radio now works and turns on but when i shut the car off it loses its memory(not a big deal, i can live with it if thats the way it has to be but id rather have it be right). Should i have run this wire to the ignition wire on the back of the radio?

when i got the car there were some missing fuses in the fuse box: radio and anouther one below it that said radio as well, the wiper fuse, and next the radio fuses one that said battery. I also noticed on the top of the fuse box there is one green wire coming out the is cut off and anouther orange wire with was spliced at some point.
