help im lost

so i just bought a 89 camaro with a 2.8 and im wanting to put a 350 in it. im also installing a th350 tranny and going carburated. i know the original electronics do me no good so now im lost. ive been reading through some other post but couldnt find the details i was looking for. i need to know what ill have to rewire. fuel pump, alternator, fan, reverse lights, starter. and if i missed anything please let me know. im not worried about gauges. auto meter is gonna take care of that. so how do i go about doing all of this.

Go to the engine swap board and start reading. You can do searches too. Everything you need to know is probably there somewhere. Just a thought but buying one with a v8 already may be a lot easier/cheaper/quicker. Or check out the 3.4 v6 option. Almost a straight swap with a good power gain.

I agree, unless you have already started the swap I would sell the car and find one with a V8 already in it. The swap is just to much of a headache to do when v8 cars are so easily found.

In that case hit the swap boards and start searching and reading. There is a lot to learn. Have fun.

Re: help im lost

To give you a quick over view, expect to have to rewire EVERYTHING. and you will be ok. honestly if you are doing and engine swap like that you want to go in expecting that everything will be shot to hell that way if it is. you're not like FFFUUUUUUUUUU..........Just a suggestion but yes Swap boards iz gud XD

really? If he is going carb then all he needs to do is ditch pretty much everything!

I think almost everything coming out from the passenger side is junk.

All you need coming out of the driver side, just to the right of the master cylinder.

All the wiring is already there for what you need. Alt, distributor, starter, electric choke if you are using a carb with one. I actually can't think of anything else. Just mark the wires you need and then clean up the harness.
