Cs-144 on a sbc?
Ive seen the posts on fitting the cs144 on tbi and tpi motor but what about the sbc?
Is it possible to fit one on there?
What car that are most likely to be at the junkyard came with the cs-144?

TPI and TBI are SBC's
I do have a underdrive setup,so I am running a 5 groove belt.
What type Alt are you replacing?

Just change the pulley on the alternator. If you are replacing one of the old style SI alternators, the CS-144 should have the same bolt spacing.
You would want to look for a CS144 alternator with 140amps from the factory. I bought mine from a 1996 Chevy Caprice with the 5.7 engine, but you can get one from a 1996 Camaro (5.7L) and also a 1995-1996 Cadillac engine would have one.
The differences are small, but important from which car you get it from. The clocking of the alternators are different in respect to where you would plug the connector in. The Camaro alternator has the plug on the bottom, the Caprice facing the passenger side. The Cadillac has a threaded upper bolt hole whereas the Caprice does not.
