what wires
i have a carbed 350 in my 1992 fbird and i was wondering if i needed to keep any wires under the hood like what powers the stuff in the car? Could i just unhook the 2 bundles under the master cylinder and get rid of them? Im running all after market gauges except fuel level.

Re: what wires
I have no idea how your aftermarket guages are wired.
But - the driver side harness needs to stay in tact unless you have rewired all guages, all exterior lights, all interior fuse panel, etc.
The pass side harness can be removed - it's all the ECM harness for the ECM sensors and such.

Re: what wires
No. All the wires in the harness running across the back of the motor are from the driver side harness, and needed - things like the fan relay wire from the fan switch, the power wires from the battery, etc.
There are a few (like 2 or 3) wires that come out of the pass side harness and go into that back engine harness to get routed to driver side, but just a few - those are sensor wires that you shouldn't need anymore as well (like the wire from ECM to the fuel pump relay).
But for the most part, all the wires from pass side harness can come out of car, all driver side harness wires stay in the car.
I recommend to folks to get them seperated (ie cut those 2-3 wires that run through that rear harness) and just tuck the pass side harness wires in the fenderwell. They can be completely tucked away out of sight there, it covers your butt just n case there is something you end up needing, and later in the future you have an almost unlimited supply of wiring from interior to exterior to utilize for things like exterior add-on lighting, fog lights, TC lockup, manual fan-on switches, electric antenna, etc. I left mine in the fenderwell, and I've used alot of that wiring for little add-ons over the years - it's nice to have wires in place, no drilling another firewall hole, etc.
