Ignition glitching
Ok, so I drove my car to school and it started up no problem. I went to leave school, put my key in the ignition, rolled my windows down went to turn it over and nothing happened. No click, just nothing. My stereo light did not turn on either, but with the ignition on I could lock my doors! I pulled the key out, put it back in, and still nothing. "jiggled" the ignition and then it worked. I'm a little puzzled because I've had something similar happen before, but I had the ignition cyl. In the column replaced and I have new keys with chips.
I'm paranoid now that my car is gonna leave me stranded in Daytona.
Any help is much appreciated.

Re: Ignition glitching
I'd start with fuses, then look at fusible links. Then look at ignition wiring from inside out, ignition switch (not the key cylinder) which is located on top of column, driver side of column, under guages (have to take column nuts off and lower column to get to it), starter enable relay (driver side kick panel under the black goo that covers hood release), neutral safety switch (above clutch pedal in a manual, in center console on pass side of shifter in an auto).
Ignition: Turn key, VATS reads chip, grounds starter enable relay - at same time power from fuse box given to large yellow wire on igntion switch. Power from yellow wire goes to starter enable relay (which is already grounded by VATS), sending power out to NSS on large green wire. If in neutral, NSS transfers power from large green wire to large purple wire, which runs out under hood through c100 connector to starter.
AS LONG AS VATS IS TURNING ON FUEL INJECTORS, you won't get stuck. You can always manually start the car from under the hood by using a decent sized wire about 3ft long, and holding it on batt + while touching the terminal on starter that the large purple wire runs to (with key on of course) - just take a chunk of wire with you as a precaution.

Re: Ignition glitching
Thanks for the help, I couldn't respond last night because I don't have Internet currently at my house...pain. I'll check the relays and and fuseable links first thing when I get back home today. My friend who has helped me with my car reminded me of the wires close to my starter that have caused problems before within the close proximity to the passenger side header. The ign switch is also brand new gm. So I'm not concerned there.
