Intermittent trunk operation HELP!

So i have a 91 camaro rs and the trunk is wild some times it will just hook the lid sometimes it wont do anything and sometimes it will sink it down i dont get it.

Welcome to TGO.

Could be the wiring connection at the hatch motor mechanism. Pull the back panel and with the hatch open depress the hatch motor engagement clip. If it doesnt start to go down, try moving the wiring connector to see it starts.

With the back panel off it's also a good time to check the ground wire.
