check the break fluid in the master cylinder that usually causes the break light to come on if its too low

Re: Brake light on dash stuck
Did you pull the right plug? Better question did you pull and push back down hard a few times on your parking brake. My air brakes on my work truck don't always release good and to get the beeping to stop I have to slam her down good! I think she likes it.......
Low fluid would do it to as posted above but you said it happened after pulling the parking break?

Re: Brake light on dash stuck
If your brake fluid is low enough to make the brake light come on, and you don't need pads, then you have a leak somewhere.
UNLESS you KNOW you have a leak, never add brake fluid - otherwise you'll make a mess the next time you replace pads. As the pads wear down, the fluid goes lower in the resevoir (pad thickness less, thus more fluid down in the system). When you replace pads, you are adding back more thickness, thus the fluid gets pushed back up the lines to the resevoir refilling it - if you added fluid, it will overrun the resevoir lip, and drip/drain all down in the engine bay.
3 things make the light come on as far as I know:
1) low fluid
2) improper proportioning between front brakes and rear brakes (ie a clog in a line, stuck caliper, etc.)
3) E-brake handle up (or bad switch)
I would not add any fluid unless it was really really low, and there are no signs of needing new pads (like scrubbing rotor noise or pad wear indicator squeek). If there's no need for pads, and the fluid is really low, I'd start hunting for the leak.

I wouldn't pull the plug on your light... That's not gonna solve anything. If it happened when pulling the parking break it would be wise to suspect that is part of the problem, not low fluid. As i posted above show your parking break a little tough love..... she might like it

Re: Brake light on dash stuck
1. fluid low
2. parking brake switch
3.prop valve switch? you might not have having disk brakes though
4. a short or electric issue for brake warning system light, get a diagram
