Need help changing headlights
Hey I recently bought an 87 IROC-Z and for some reason the guy that had the car before me put some REALLY dim, crappy lights on it. I ordered some new lights today and I should get them tomorrow and I was wondering what is the easiest way to change headlamps? Please help. I can't drive at night until I get the new lights installed.

Spray some penetrating oil on the screws that hold the trim ring on, let it soak for a bit, then have a go at it!!
These screws can be a real bear to get out!!
Use a long handled screw driver for better grip, and no damage to the headlight pocket!!
Once the screws are removed, be careful pulling the trim rings off, as they can scratch the plastic in the headlight pocket, if you are not careful!!
When reinstalling the trim ring screws, put some protectant on them for easier removal at a later date!!
Are you sure that the PO even changed out the headlights, as the lights will tend to dim after a "few" years!!!
P.S. The trim ring has two screw holes with slots at the bottom, and two holes at the top, it is possible to just loosen the bottom ones, and remove the two top ones, and then remove the trim ring, but that causes the trim ring to be bent when removing it!!
I would remove all four screws!!

I had good luck loosening (but not completely removing) the lower ones, since they can be a pain to get at like Dan said. Completely remove the upper 2 and you should be able to swing the bezel down and out of the way enough to get the headlight out.

The trim ring screws are close to the corners. The screws in the centers are for adjusting the beam - leave the centers alone.
