painless wiring
has anybody used them?
im trying to wire my vert with no engine
was wondering if i can hook the harness up to a battery so i can test some wiring i did for lights windows and doors. im using a 4th gen dash and switches with a painless universal kit = headache lol

Painless makes a good product. However with a universal kit you need to have still need quite a bit of knowledge.
I've used their electric fan kits, fuel pump kits, etc. Never had an issue, except maybe redoing a few things for personal preference.

im gonna use a 4th gen wire diagram for the switches, just wondering if i can hook the harness to battery to check my connections ive made to make sure they are wired correctly

I have hooked up a battery before without having a harness completely connected. Should have no trouble if you're just checking lights and such. Make sure though that any other hots are insulated and not going to short against anything. Don't want to melt that harness.
When it comes to an OEM replacement harness from painless though, first and last one I did was a TBI swap and the harness would be short in some areas. Pretty messed up on Painless' part. Thats why I call them pain-in the-***. Universal kits seem to have been ok though.
