check engine wont flash...
wassup 3rd gen family! my check engine wasnt working at all so i replaced bulb and it works but wont flash when i first put key in.. i have the factory gm srvr manual and went thru the troubleshooting process until i got to chart a-6... is says to disco grnd wire from aldl term in one step to verify a short or grnd with meter... my question is, how do i do that??? all wires going to and from ecm, aldl and etc are all hard wired.....

there should be a connection on the other end near the ecm, connector C207. you'll want to find the pinout specifications for your model, but any connection from the ecm going to the dash should be going through there. Unplug the C207 connectors and use a continuity test between the aldl connector and the C207 connector

i do have the pin out for that connector... is it on the left or right under dash?? and do i pull grnd wire from connector or snip it and reconnect?? thnx again...

just an fyi, i replaced my ecm and cleaned a few connectors and now my check engine flashes and operates correctly....
