Ok after numerous hours searching through the forum i still can't find the answer I need. Basically the harness I have now from my 84 Z28 that was a 305 and T5 was hacked up from the previous owner and I'm parting out an 86 RS with a V6 auto and want to know if I can still use just the engine harness off the 86 on my 84. Looking at my manaul and other diagrams they match up. I'm not running a computer and thought it would be a cheap solution.

 

For the most part they will work. Read over the 3rd gen prep thread about converting an EFI harness to carb. Youll still have to contend with the V6 harness not having a few functions like choke and throttle kicker relay and the C207 pins being different on several things like alt

 

The interior side is all done that was pretty easy. I am going to pull the v6 harness today and give it a shot. If it comes down to it I will just pull the wires that I need off the v6 and insert them into the 84 harness.

 

Well the harnesses are about 70% close. Just decided to pull the major wires off the V6 and put them into my V8 harness. Hopefully this will solve all my problems on this issue. Lol.
