Lets see your Digital Dash
I looked around and didn't find any threads specifically for digital dashs so I thought It would be cool to have a thread for everyone to show off their digital clusters. Aftermarket, stock Trans Am U52 clusters, the Camaro Berlinetta clusters, or your own custom digital gauges, lets see em' all.
I'll start with mine; 1986 Trans Am WS6 with the U52 cluster, sorry, no photos of it all lit up, the car is undergoing a slow restoration and a lot of things are apart at the moment.

Ya too bad it is gone now! LOL Sold it so I could buy my 86 Iroc, plus the GTA had MAJOR problems mechanically. I really wanted a Camaro since they are easier to find quality parts for here where I live.

Re: Lets see your Digital Dash
Will the digital clusters fit in a dash that used the analog gauges? Me and my brother are working on a project car and are planning on putting the digital gauges in. We have a cluster and complete under dash harness on the way and we just want to make sure we can find all the stuff required to make it work. Nice pics guys.

Re: Lets see your Digital Dash
What gauges are you getting? There are aftermarket gauges that will fit in the analogue dashes, they are advertised here sometimes...Or are you getting a Trans Am digital dash that came factory in another car and transplanting it? If you bought a stock digital cluster then I'm not sure what modifications need to be done. I know the dash trim is clearly different, all the support structures are most likely very similar though I can't say for sure (I've never had my digital cluster apart side by side with my analogue one). The factory digital clusters though I'm pretty sure used different sensors for a lot of the engine management stuff, Idk about the ECM, but the digi cluster had its own computer to run its display. I'm not too sure the digi harness is plug and play either, I think you need to do some mods, but again, I've never done a transplant, I have just taken my digi cluster out a time or two.

The stock digital and analog gauge clusters have different connectors on the back. The analog type has a plug-in on the top and then one directly below it.

Where on the digital cluster the plug-ins are side by side but spread apart.

If you want to switch them out I think you will need a completely different harness.

Yes it is a stock digital cluster. And we bought the whole under dash harness with it. We just werent sure if the digital cluster would fit directly into our dash. And that was another concern about this, will all the sensors work with this cluster. (Oil, water temp, etc.)

Re: Lets see your Digital Dash
That I don't know. All of the sensors are electronic after 85 on the birds, and the internals on the analog gauges are stepper motors controlled by circuit boards. I know the digital dash is all based on circuit boards so everything theoretically should work since you have the entire digital dash harness.
The locations where the digital harness will attach to the dash housing should be there, but I don't know for sure.
