IIRC ,
in 91 the VSS signal goes to computer 1st then to the speedo.

Please do check it with a meter. Saves you a TON of time. Test resistance to make sure the wires are connected

Here is the circuit

Resistance

Put a lead on the beginning and end of the wire to test everything in between. A result of 1 (open circuit) or several hundred (short/bad connection) means problems. You want a low number say 20 or under for a good connection

Re: vss non-cable speedometer not working?

Pull the harness and VSS connector up into the engine bay where you can reach it easily

Unplug the ECM and run continuity tests from ECM pins to the connector

If those check out do the same from the ECM to C207 D

If thats ok, repeat from C207 to cluster

If those all check out then the issue is not in the wiring

Re: vss non-cable speedometer not working?

SO, you are saying to put one probe of the meter to the yellow wire on the vss harness and the other to the yellow wire of the vss on the actual pcm? If so, what am i setting the meter to? I assume ohms ,but what setting on ohms?

Re: vss non-cable speedometer not working?

Yes, and set it to the smallest resistance setting you have, most have a 20ohm setting
