when the key is turn to on position but not trying to cranks it you will hear a clicking sound by the engine and the check engine light blinks when it clicks and the radiator fan turns on and when you turn the key to off it stop all together and its a 1991 z28 350 TPI and it all happened when i turned my car on and all of a sudden it died and this is what it did

 

check with the cables look for corrosion especially were they screw in to the battery....if not maybe just the starter solenoid or starter

 

maybe the i know the fan turns on because of something else but maybe it needs a full battery or the starter is gone

 

If the starter solenoid clicks many times, then you have a dead battery. If it clicks once then nothing, then you have an issue with your starter wiring.

 

it clicks every ten second and the check engine light blinks with it here ill tell you the story it was winter so i wanted to make sure my car was being turn on and i went out to start the car so it started up and about a bit later not long 5 minutes the car turned of and the radiator fan turned on on when the key is in the on position and the drivers side fan turns on and the is a clicking by the engine about every ten seconds and when it clicks then check engine light blinks with the click and i tried to DTC and it didn't so and after winter i played with it nothing changed but i tried again to DTC to see if anything will happen and it went into the mode 12 12 12 12 12 12 12 the whole time so nothing was wrong but then i turned the car on and it ran then the car died and it will not DTC anymore it just turns the fan on and clicks and blinks then check engine light
