Purple and yellow wire disconec.? VSS No speedo

Ok So i am having a few problems,

1987 trans am
305 tpi 700r4 tranny

1. to get the car into second gear ( while punching it ) i have to let off the gas. 2about 4500, other wise it will go into the red.

2. i have a yellow and purple wire disconected under the left side dash board..... cant find the other end

3. the speedo. does not work at all, nor does the oil pressure guage.

what i know....

it is throwing a code 24

1.The vhecical speed buffer is next to my ecu and has a yellow and purple wires connected to the right side. They are a different guage from those under the dash tho.
2. The speed buffer is likly the problem( been over many threads), but the disconected yellow and purple wires under the drivers side got me thinking their is another possibilitie.

is their a speed sensor i need to look for? (Vss). are they the same vss and buffer? Is this causing the shifting problem.

Check the tail shaft of the transmission. Note the wire color:

Oil pressure gauge - the sender for it will be atop the intake china wall, just to driver side of distributor - about the size of a Red Bull can cut in half - has a single wire to it. Mabe the wire has come off?

Ok their is nothing on the tail shaft like that at all. Im wondering if the tranny is aftermarket or somthing? ille try and get a picture in soon. i know the different places it goes but their is nothing that i can see. Their is a male plug that runs to the tranny but from what i researched its a plug for reverse lights.

Thank you im new to this car but i burn at least two hours a day on it. Call it love , my girlfriend hates it.

There are two plugs on an OE trans: one for the reverse lights and one for the speedo cable and/or VSS.
