Two different types of Rear Hatch pull down units

OK, I know there are two different hatch pull down units. I have the one that is NOT meant to be open with the dash switch. has anyone swapped over to one that can be opened with a pull down switch? Also, does anyone know of a website with good info on these two types?

There's info on here somewhere. Or you can google and find instructions. I think all you need is the solenoid operated release that simply(?) bolts to the pull down unit. A relay that goes under the dash somewhere and the switch. You can buy the dash unit with the switch and the wiring should all be in place. The connector for the switch is covered and tucked in behind the switch panel. You can buy all the parts at a junk yard or Top-DownSolutions.com has them.
