Okay, i got my 87 GTA back together and it is running very smooth but my tach is reading about 6500 on start up and car is in park. When i put it in drive it backs down to about 6000. The instant i give it any gas it pegs out and when i come to a stop it reads about 6000 again so i know the tack is working but is just reading abnormally. Like i said the engine doent miss and runs extremely smooth. Please help
