on my 86 iroc i have the high mount stop light, it has bulbs in it, but no wiring. being a neon green thirdgen, more the reason to get pulled over by them coppers. any help on how it works, or how to fix it would be much much appreciated. or list of items i need in order to fix them.

 

No wires humm is it stock 2 car you can always splice into the back brake lights and run the wires

 

yeah, was like that when i got it, he runs now, just needs highmount to work, and idk what the previous owner did, but theres no wires. nothing else i could splice em.

 

where can i find the 'plugs' if i wanted to do the highmount delete?

thinking of just taking it off, personally dont mind either way. did a bit of searching around, there hatch bolts u use in place of the highmount. well see.

 

Theres should be an arm towards the middle of the hatch when you open in and IIRC ive been told that is for the light, gets power when the hatch is closed, mines missing so I ran wires

 

yeah the wires on the passenger side hatch shock thing, the gas shock, its like a little boot

 

did u run them from the brake switch or splice in?

are you sure he didnt tuck them under the passenger panel?

 

yeah when I first got it I stripped it down nothing hiding there

 

thats weird... wonder why someone would cut that wire..

 

this whole car was weird. looks like he had it a track car, banged up the rear. fixed it and swapped everything back to be honest. it's been a fun little project. trying to get it on the road within the week now
