Power window switch/connector melted
Thought i'd Start here for some help on my power windows. I am already replacing carpet so i figured id look at the power window switch while i had easy access. Right before i parked it I went to put the driver side window down and it started to smoke. Needless to say window wont go down and the switch/connector gets hot. Can anyone shed some light on to why it did this and how to fix this? Any help would be great!

Re: Power window switch/connector melted
a couple things could have caused this - bad connections or a bad motor. a worn out motor usually will draw more power than one in good shape; it may be trying to draw too much amperage for everything else in the circuit and the weak point was at the switch/ connector. the other issue would be a bad connection. if the connection is bad or corroded, you'll have an increase in resistance at that point that will usually result in warm/hot parts.

Ill look into the connections/ motor, but i can tell you one thing for sure is the motors were absolutely beautiful in regards to how fast they went up/down so i would highly doubt that BUT stranger things have been known to happen. Thanks for the info
