brights switch on 91 RS wont work

my brights switch, it wont turn on or click the lights on, (i even hold it towards steering wheel and still no brights.) im wandering what it could be, i have a chiltons, its a 91 RS and i was wandering how much this turn signal switch would cost. Im either fixing this or just putting in a toggle switch for brights, i dont think i wanna do that, thats the best i could possibly do right now. But please i need opinions

OK due to the fact it won’t *click* it’s either not being actuated, or it’s broken.

To find out, go to the bottom of the steering column and try to actuate by hand.

Happy Racing!

Re: brights switch on 91 RS wont work

This same thing happened on my car. I fixed it yesterday by adjusting the actual high beam switch at the base of the steering column. First you have to remove the knee pad under the dash. Then move the turn indicator back and forth until you see a metal rod move back and forth. Adjust the white switch that it connects to foreward untill by moving the turn indicator, you can hear/see it click. There are two bolts on the top of the switch bracket that are really hard to get to. Some people say that they are 7mm, but the ones on my '92 RS were 5/16ths. Good luck.
