Auto Door locks..weird they work but..

Car: 1982 Trans AM
Engine: 305 Single Carb
Transmission: Automatic
Auto Door locks..weird they work but..

YA so basically the door actuators seem to be working fine. Power gets to them no problem and I can see (Door Panels off) they push and pull but the actual lock only moves slightly in either direction and wont fully open or close, I always have to help push it along either way with my hand by push or pulling on the metal bar connected to the door lock..

Could the actuators not be strong enough? Or maybe the lock on the door is sized?

Clueless here.

Quite often, the mechanisms are simply bound with years worth of crud. Cleaning and lubing (white grease) is sometimes the answer. I'd start their before replacing anything.

Hey James, What do you mean by "White Grease" Of course I'm assuming the grease is white LOL. Is there one you would recommend?

He’s referring to White lithium grease.

Just go to the auto parts store and ask for it by name.
