Hazard lights not working.

Alright guys, I am starting to work on my 89 Camaro RS. This is my first project car, and I am only 20 years old. This is also my first American car. That being said.

My "mechanic" friend and I were going over the car to see what it needed to pass inspection yesterday. The Hazard lights dont come on (I believe it is the switch because when I pull the switch, the interior signals dont come on either, and I hear no clicking. The bulbs are not out because all the other signals work)

My question is this; Does anyone have a step by step on taking apart the steering wheel, column etc. Pictures as well?

You likely need this...

Mine was bad when I bought my car, it had a short in it so when I turned on the hazards or signals it would blow the fuse. It did involve pulling the steering wheel (you'll need a puller tool) and dropping the column. The hardest part was feeding the wires down thru the column in the sheath.

Oh yeah, take a pic of the old switch in the column, that way you can look at it and determine the right way to put in the new one. I didn't do this and had a had time remembering which way it went in.

Mine isnt shorting out. Mine just doesnt activate the hazards when I pull the switch. (I am supposed to pull it, right? lol). I just hope that is just the switch. And I will take pics. Waiting until it cools down outside.

Umm, I went to go put my windows up as a storm was threatening, and I just fiddled with the Hazard switch. Guess what, it works now. So I am going to move on to the horn.
