Removing a wiring harness
Well just as the title states, I need help getting my harness out. I'm in the process of yanking the V6, and making way for a 350 Vortec TPI. I have the harness out of the passenger side and everything on the engine and in the bay disconnected, but the engine side of the harness goes behind the engine, and over to the drivers side, where the relays are under the wiper deck, and back into the car. Now what the heck is that. Is that the fuse box side of the harness? And if so, how to I go about getting the harness out without damaging it, or completely removing everything on the drivers side to get the fuse box out?
I bought a new harness from fuelinjectionconnection.com that I'm going to be using on my build for the 350, but it doesn't have anything really for the fuse box side like the harness in the car does.
It has hook ups to go to a fuse box and includes a box to run a fuel pump and MAF burn off relays and stuff, but other than that, it doesn't include anything for the horn, interior lights, radio, any of it. So what should I do?

I'm not sure on your car, but on mine I had a small bolt on the bottom that held the main harness in and it simply unclipped afterward.
Re: Removing a wiring harness
Sounds like teh C100 is giving you fits. Its the main bulkhead near the booster
Take a 1/4 ratchet, 3" extension and 1/4" socket. Unscrew the bolt in the dead center of it until it starts skipping. Next pull the connector free. Pull the fingers back and separate the engine and light halves. Drape the harness/relays over the intake and pull with the engine

Re: Removing a wiring harness
Alright thanks. So why is the harness like that? Am I going to need those parts to operate the car or accessories? The harness that I got from fuelinjectionconnection.com doesn't have anything for that hookup, its just for the engine, so how am I going to use my fuse box side for the electronics in the car once the swap is done? Can the fuse box side operate independently from the other missing side of the harness once my 165 ECM harness is installed for the 350?
Re: Removing a wiring harness
Most stand alone harnesses are designed to fire the engine up anywhere, be it a classic car's engine bay with ZERO stock wiring reused, and engine stand row whatever
Swaps into modern cars with large fuseblocks are rare by comparison so building harnesses without dont give a good return on the investment. Besides who actually buys a TPI stand alone harness to go in a car that could have came with TPI from the factory. Well, just you because everyone else buys a TPI 3rd gen harness. Your 90 V6 matches up 100% with any 90-92 TPI harness

Re: Removing a wiring harness
So what should I do? I planned on switching to MAF, I got a MAF harness, and I was not aware that a V6 harness would work with a TPI V8, I guess I just need extra connectors for two more injectors?
I didn't want to buy a used harness just because of the problems that could come with it. I bought a brand new one to make sure that I wouldn't have any problems, and everything on it would work. I got a brand new one for the same price as an old possibly non-functioning one.

Re: Removing a wiring harness
My point was the body connectors are pinned the same from V6 to TPI, so your only issue is to actually find a 90-92 harness so you just plug it in on your V6 car. You couold just add a few injector connectors and get the V6 harness to work but I wouldnt bother
