tail light wiring HELP

tail light wiring HELP
I have the stock tail light harness in my 89 RS, but the body harness is an aftermarket EZ harness.
The problem that I am having is that the colors for the GM tail harness dose not match the colors for the EZ body harness... even if it did, I still would like to make sure everything is right...
The diagrams that I have been looking at don't make clear what each wire on the tail connector is. Dose anyone know?
A - Black -- ground
B - Light Blue -- brake
C - Yellow/brown -- 3rd brake light
D - Brown -- markers, plate, tail lights
E - Yellow -- LH rear turn
F - Dark Green -- RH rear turn
G - Light Green -- black up
H - Red/white -- power trunk???
am I reading this right

Re: tail light wiring HELP
this is what I have put together so far with the EZ harness. All the colors match up except for brakes. The EZ harness only has 3rd brake light wire.. So I twisted the orange EZ 3rd brake together with B + C (see above). I am doing all of this assuming that the above chart is correct.
EZ TAIL WIRING
----------------
LT park, RT park, License PLT, markers = brown
RR turn = green
LR turn = Yellow
Third Brake = orange
Backup = Green

You can use a 12 volt fused source to probe which wire illuminates which bulb.
Just connect ground to ground (black wires in most cases) then using the + wire from the supply, touch the unknown wires.
When the bulb illuminates, attach a label to the wire.
As far as the car you’re working on, if there is no taillight assembly on it at this time, you can find out what wires illuminate what bulb by using a voltmeter or clip on lamp then label those wires.

Re: tail light wiring HELP
I don't know if this helps, but my 3rd brake light on my 88 wasn't working. Turned out that the independent black wire coming off of the bottom connection plate had become disconnected. I didn't think a ground wire would matter, but when I reconnected it, the light began working again.

Re: tail light wiring HELP
I sure hope the wire nuts are temporary...
Brown: Park Lights, Side Markers, License Plate light
LT: Yellow
RT: Dark Green
B/U: Light Green
Brake: Light Blue
Hatch motor assembly power: Red/White. May have a thick black for the release solenoid. Independent connector.
HMSL: Yellow wire, probably gets connected to the orange in the body harness. Doesn't connect to the tail light harness, has its own connector.
