Trunk latch help??? (91 Camaro)

Thanks for your time, my camaro has a problem with the electronic motor that releases the latch, allowing the hatchback trunk to open. The motor works, the light does too, i found out that the relay is messed up. It is a F relay (part number:16622774) Where can i get one of these? i've been searching for days i can't find anything. All help is greatly appreciated!

I sell it. It is on pg 2 of my hatch pull-down units category.

Re: Trunk latch help??? (91 Camaro)

Dear Users!
I need some help for a 91 firebird (with the amber pull down sys)!
I left my car sits at winter and when i started it at the new season it wont open the hatch. I checked first the fuse, its ok, checked button ok, relay clicks ok output power measures ok when it button pressed. Went back to the car trunk to check wires on the lifter. 5 pole connector wires measures ok. removed the reserving switch direct powered the motor (from own wires) just skipped the reversing switch and its works as it should. So i possibly have problem with the needle switch or the reserving switch.

But it worked when i left the car a few months ago.. Don't know what happen

So i take apart the reserving switch and nothing new for me. very similar as the previous versions (a mechanical route switch between layers to reserve polarity). Prev. version looked similar i just remembering some kind of diode what i do not seen in this version.

Anyway i cleaned all the tracks lubed the sliding part edges so puted together again tested in hand all works smooth, but when i tested it on the car is nothing. grrr

Tomorrow somehow i will measure out the needle switch to let know it works or not.

So the question. Anyone can suggest me a way for repair or diagnostic the problem?
I have the 91 big service manual and that book do not have this diagram which was posted here. Looks like they missed out from the 91.
If someone has the 92 book feel free to post here the solution pages. But i think i shoot out all of the methods where i do not need new parts. So any repair tip would be useful.
This part looks expensive (35-40$+sh) for my current budget in Hungary Will wait for any reply! Regards!

Re: Trunk latch help??? (91 Camaro)

Thanks for the pages.

I checked the Pull down Striker Switch and it works well. its normally Switch the incoming black wire to black yellow or black orange
So i recheck the reserving switch traces and i found a very small movement of one of the motor leads. I checked its trace and it was damaged. It was not always in contact. Soldered it and after a reassembling end test it worked well.

So it saved and works for a while. If not i know how and where to check the lid problem
